Here I Am

As a truck dispatcher I spend a big part of my day trying to convince drivers to cover loads that are not always somewhere that they want go.
In a short time I know who will be willing, who won't, who will do it without complaining and who  grumbles about everything.
It is so much more pleasant to work with agreeable people.

I've been doing a lot of reading and studying this week about being willing to say yes and step up to the plate whenever God calls out to me.
Very often I will see my faults and inadequacies. And think someone else might be the better choice.
But when God calls me, I need to be more willing to jump into action. If He finds me acceptable for a task, then who am I to doubt?
God will always be with me. He will never send me and then abandon me.

What about you? Are you a willing worker for the Lord? Do you see a need and jump in? Do you wait to be asked? Do you makes excuses? Do you hope that no one asks anything of you?

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, (Colossians 3:23 NIV)

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, (Ephesians 6:7 NIV)

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17 NIV)

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, (Philippians 2:14 NIV)
