The Sick

Yesterday was the first day in years that I missed church due to illness. And I feel really bad about that.
I was raised in a church. We went every time the doors were open, for whatever function was going on, even if we were sick. We didn't even question it, it was just want we did.
Knowing God as a child has so many benefits. I grew up knowing that God was real. He was part of our everyday life. We talked to Him and about Him all the time. I have never had to doubt or question His existence.
It is my hope that everyone could know and love God like that. But sadly many don't.
There are children growing up that don't know Jesus. There are teens who haven't ever been taught to trust in The Lord, so now they don't know how to hope. There are adults who have turned away and think that God has turned from them.
We need to reach these and show them who God really is. We need to be equipped with knowledge so that we can teach accurately. We need to be a faithful example when circumstances are not ideal in our own lives so that the world can see our trust and our hope.

Many of Jesus' recorded miracles involve physical healings. Think about something. What if these folks had thought they were too sick to be near Jesus?
The coming of The Lord is near. We need to be ready. We need to not let anything get in the way of that.

You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. (James 5:8 NASB)
