Words can hurt

I woke up very early this morning. I felt a little strange and like something didn't feel quite right. I knew that I had gone to bed early and should be feeling refreshed.
Then I recalled a dream. Once I began to remember it, I remembered it completely. In my dream someone unintentionally hurt my feelings.
We were at a celebration event, a lot was going on there and this woman (innocently) said something directly to me that hurt me. This woman does not know me very well, but others there do and realized right away that I had been hurt.
In my dream, I got my coat and decided to leave the celebration. As I was leaving a friend came up to me to console me. Meanwhile another friend went to talk to the woman to inform her that what she had said had hurt me.
I woke up before anything was resolved in my dream.
Now in reality I would like to think that I would not have left. I would like to think that this infraction would be easily bypassed. But dreams can feel so very real that I still felt some of that hurt after waking up.

Can you relate to anyone in this dream? Which one of these four would be you?
Have your feelings ever been hurt? I'm sure they have been, even if unintentionally. How do you deal with being hurt?
Have you ever hurt someone else? What if you found out you hurt someone unintentionally?
Are you the sympathetic friend? What would you say to the hurt person?
Are you the "peacemaker?" Would you be the woman that went to talk to the woman that said the hurtful thing? What would you say?

I hope that my words can be encouraging and uplifting.

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.  1 Thessalonians 5:11
