Rooted

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit." (Jeremiah 17:7, 8 ESV)

Do you trust in The Lord, are you like that tree?
Do you wilt and hang low when circumstances aren't going exactly like you think they should?
What if you lose your job? What if your income is gone because of medical expenses and emergencies? What about when your children disappoint you?
There are many bad things that happen and can happen in our daily lives. But we are called to be joyful, to look to The Lord and trust in Him. But more than that, we are still to be about our purpose of showing Jesus to the world.
It is not about us. It really isn't. It is about everyone.
When you lose your spark, your hope, your joy, even if only for a short time, people see.
I would rather people see that I don't know how it is going to be ok, but I trust that God will give me what I need to get through anything.
Shoot out your roots, get them deep into God's word and will and you will remain "green and strong" when the winds and droughts come.
